Turkish border guards continue targeting civilians in the border area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Turkish gendarmerie (military police) directly shot three people attempting to cross the Syrian-Turkish border during the past hours.

According to the observatory, the injured civilians, one of whom is from Heseke, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to SOHR, the number of civilians killed by Turkish gendarmerie since early 2023 in different areas near the Syria-Turkey border has increased to 18. In addition, 31 civilians, including a child and three women, were injured in gunfire by Turkish gendarmerie in the same period.
