The KCK condemned the Turkish state attacks on Kurds.
The Co-Presidency of the KCK Executive Council issued a statement to condemn the Turkish state attacks on Kurds.
The statement said: “In the last week, the genocidal colonialist Turkish state has carried out attacks in Şengal [Sinjar], Sulaymaniyah and Kelar. We strongly condemn these massacres carried out by the Turkish state together with its collaborators, and we commemorate with respect and gratitude those who were martyred in the attacks. These attacks, like the previous ones, took place within the framework of the Kurdish genocide. The genocidal colonialist Turkish state wants to intimidate and surrender the Kurdish people by targeting those who lead the freedom struggle and on this basis realize its genocide plans. Everyone should take a stance against these attacks by the Turkish state with the aim of Kurdish enmity and Kurdish genocide and stand against it.”
The statement added: “The Turkish state is trying to realize its new plan against South Kurdistan, which is based on the occupation of the region. Therefore, it is putting pressure on the Iraqi state and the ‘Patriotic Union Kurdistan’ (PUK), forcing them to collaborate with them like the ‘Kurdistan Democratic Party’ (KDP) does. Having failed against the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, the Turkish state and the AKP-MHP government are trying to achieve results by deepening the conflict in the region. The threats and attacks against the patriotic forces of Iraq and South Kurdistan reveal and decipher these dirty plans of the Turkish state. The AKP-MHP government has reached a position that harms everyone with this attitude. It acts with a genocidal, colonialist, racist, nationalist, neo-ottomanist mentality. By deepening war and conflict in the Middle East, it seeks to profit from it and to establish sovereignty over the states of the region.”
The statement continued: “Sadun Mirza Ali, a valuable patriot of our Êzidî [Yazidi] people, was martyred in the attack in Şengal. The attack on Şengal is an attack on the free will of our Êzidî people. The Turkish state wants to finalize the genocide on the Êzidîs that ISIS started. All attacks against Şengal are for this single purpose.
Abdülkadir Sabri Toprak, who was martyred in the attack in Sulaymaniyah, had been forced to leave North Kurdistan due to AKP-MHP fascism, came to South Kurdistan and settled in the city of Sulaymaniyah. This valuable son of the Kurdish people, popularly known as Dr. Sabri, was both earning a living from his labor and providing great service to the people. When Sabri was still a young boy, his father, Rêzan, joined the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle and was martyred in the early ’90s.
Comrade Şevger, a cadre of our movement, was martyred in the attack in Kelar. Since 2022, Şevger had been continuing his struggle in South Kurdistan and was carrying out political activities. We commemorate with respect and gratitude all the martyrs of revolution and democracy in the persons of our three martyrs, and we state that we will realize the aspirations of the martyrs.”
