Turkish Occupation Forces has changed features of the archaeological site of Nebi Huri in the Shera District, to the north of the occupied Afrin Canton.

Photos taken, obtained by ANHA, show that Turkish Occupation Army have defaced and changed features of the historical and archaeological site of the Nebi Huri, and built a mosque in the yard of the archaeological site.

The Nebi Huri, known in antiquity as the city of Cyrus or Cyrrhus, lies some 45 km to the north eastern side of Afrin, dependent on the Shera District, that is some 70 km distance from Aleppo, and dates back to 312 B.C.

The Nebi Huri was occupied by Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries in the aftermath of the Turkish Invasion of Afrin.

As the region was occupied, archaeological and historical sites and milestones in the occupied Afrin Canton have been susceptible to excessive digging operations, looting, robbing and all kinds of violations to antiques and relics by Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries who transfer them into Turkey, according to the Antiquities Directorate of the Afrin Canton.

Photos obtained by ANHA show the site underwent changes and has been defaced as Turkish flag flatters, and that additional buildings are been built as a minaret as well as bodies embellished with crescents, that indicate it has been transformed into  a mosque.
