Turkish invasion protested by groups in Europe
Groups in France and Germany held protests against the Turkish invasion of Iraqi Kurdistan on Sunday, and further protests are to be held in Germany, Switzerland and France on Monday.
Protests were held against the latest incursions by the Turkish military into Iraqi Kurdistan, by groups in European cities on Sunday night following initial reports by Kurdish news outlets.
Demonstrations were staged in Marseilles in France, and in Stuttgart and Dusseldorf in Germany.
The protestors chanted slogans like, ‘Dictator Erdoğan’, ‘International Solidarity’, ‘Solidarity with Kurdistan’, and ‘Terrorist Erdogan’.
Further demonstrations are planned for Monday upon a call for solidarity action by the The Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress in Europe (KCDK-E) in the following locations in Germany, Switzerland and France:
Munich (3pm, Karlsplatz Stachus), Hamburg (6pm, Jungfernstieg), Düsseldorf (5pm, Hauptbahnhof)
Bern (5pm, Bahnhofplatz), Lausanne (6pm Rue Saint Laurent), Geneva (6pm, Mont Blanc)
Montpellier (4pm, Comedie square), Bordeaux (5pm, Grand-Teatre), Paris (6pm, Place de la Republique)
