Two hundred Turkish military vehicles have entered Syria through the border gate Kharbet al-Jouz about 45 miles west of Idlib, according to ANHA.

ANHA reports that two convoys of Turkish military vehicles have been deployed in the countryside west of Idlib and Mount Zāwiya, south of Idlib.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) also reported on Tuesday that a second batch of over 100 Turkish vehicles carrying logistic and military equipment entered after a convoy of 100 other vehicles had entered previously.

ANHA also reports that Turkish scout planes are being observed in the skies over the Syrian Kurdish town Kobane in northern Syria today, Wednesday.

On 23 October a Turkish drone attack on an unmarked car on the Aleppo road in Kobani killed three people and left four wounded.

Although the casualties were initially said to have been civilians, ANHA reported later that the people killed in the aerial attack were three fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), named as Hozan Qamishlo, Gelî Helep and Amed Efrîn.

A Turkish drone had targeted a civilian vehicle in Kobane previously, on 20 October, wounding three civilians, named as Lutfi Mihemed, Bekir Jeradê and 19-year-old Elî Reshad Misto.

People’ Defence Units (YPG) Spokesperson Nuri Mahmoud shared footage on his Twitter account that shows the wounded civillians being treated in hospital, commenting:

“Turkish aircrafts have hit a civilian vehicle in the centre of Kobanî today, killing 2 civilians and injuring 4 others, including a child. This attack constitutes a serious violation of the ceasefire treaties of 17.10.2019 with the US and that of 23.10.2019 with Russia.”

The intensified Turkish attacks and increasing deployment of military vehicles in NE Syria came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s controversial statements last week.

Speaking to the media after a cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdoğan gave the messages of Turkey’s determination “to eliminate the threats from northern Syria”, and signalled a new military operation in Syria.
