Stop the war against Rojava: Week of action around the world
As part of an international week of action, called by the RiseUp4Rojava campaign, people around the world have protested against the aggression of the Erdogan regime against the Democratic Federation of Northeast Syria and the Kurdish freedom movement.
People around the world have joined the international week of action, called by the RiseUp4Rojava campaign. Activists protested against the aggression of the Erdogan regime against the Democratic Federation of Northeast Syria and the Kurdish freedom movement under the slogan "From Kobanê to the world: Rise up against fascism".
Activists expressed their solidarity with the resistance of Kobanê and the revolution in Rojava/Northeast Syria. The week of action started on 1st November, World Kobanê Day.
In the past week, said the RiseUp4Rojava campaign in a press release, activists in "Argentina, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, Catalonia, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Great Britain, Greece, Turkey, Australia, as well as Kurdish organisations in Rojava/Northeast Syria and Europe and the campaigns Women Defend Rojava, the Internationalist Commune of Rojava, Make Rojava Green Again have organised more than 150 actions, in 20 countries.
In many places, said the statement, "there were actions directed against arms companies and other companies that collaborate with the Turkish state and keep its war machinery running. The warfare of the Turkish state is highly dependent on support from other states, both technologically and financially as well as politically."
Şoreş Ronahî, a spokesperson of the Internationalist Commune of Rojava, said: "If we want to stop the war of Turkish fascism against the democratic movement, against the revolutionary achievements and the civilian population in Kurdistan and Syria, we must also cut the supply for the wars."
The widespread demands of the RiseUp4Rojava campaign have already forced the Turkish arms industry into a deep crisis since the invasion last October.
Şoreş Ronahî added: "Through our global resistance and with hundreds of actions in many countries in the form of demonstrations, blockades, occupations around the globe, we protested against the crimes of the Turkish state and its allies. At the same time, we also contributed in information events and seminars to spread a hope and a practical alternative that Rojava shows. Now it is more urgent than ever that we continue to unite our struggles and continue to carry and defend the hope that Rojava gives us worldwide.”
