Students, prominent intellectuals, activists, and movements will discuss the paradigm of Abdullah Öcalan between 7 and 9 April at the University of Hamburg.

Network for an Alternative Quest announced that it will organise its fourth conference based on the political philosophy of the founding leader of Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) Abdullah Öcalan between 7 and 9 April at the University of Hamburg in Germany.

The conference, to be held in 2019, was postponed due to Covid-19. Entitled “Challenging Capitalist Modernity IV: We want our world back — Resist, Reclaim and Rebuild”, this year topics will focus the critique of capitalist modernity and building Democratic Confederalism.

The network has called for papers and for workshops to be contributed, mentioning that it will provide technical support on multilingual translations, livestream, cultural activities and accommodation to participants.

“The past three conferences not only brought together leading intellectuals but also gave young activists, students, and scholars a chance to present their ideas. In this fourth conference, we want to once again build bridges between different communities and movements in Kurdistan and worldwide,” said the network.

The detailed program and previous sessions of three conferences held in 2012, 2015 and 2017 are available here.
