The European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) issued a statement calling on “mass participation in the simultaneous protests to be held in front of Turkish consulates in all of Europe, Australia and Canada on Wednesday 29 January. The protests are organized by the PYD in order to revive the spirit of Kobanê, increase support, and boost the morale of our people resisting in Tishrin and Rojava.”

The KCDK-E’s call added: “The genocidal Turkish state persists in its attacks on Rojava with a sense of revenge after the defeat in Kobanê. It resorts to all the dirty ways and methods in its power to end its historical defeat with a genocide. All-out attacks on civilians continue to increase and take lives every day.

Against Rêber Apo’s [Abdullah Öcalan] solution proposals based on the democratic nation paradigm, they see the solution as attacking the common life of the people and the Rojava Revolution with a method that aims to take away all their gains and values.

Afier the collapse of the Assad regime and the regime change that took place in Syria, the Turkish state continues to carry out its attacks together with the remnants of ISIS called SMO. The Tishrin Dam resistance has been heroically carried out for 19 days with the defense it has carried out by cyberattacking the civilian population.”

The statement continued: “In the direct attacks carried out by the Turkish state against the civilian population in the vigil resistance, at least 21 civilians have been killed and more than 120 have been injured.

It is the fundamental duty of us Kurds, whose numbers have reached hundreds of thousands in Europe against the attacks on Rojava, to increase the struggle against this inhumane oppression and massacre. We need to stand up with a more effective spirit of struggle. In order to defend Rojava and grow the resistance in Tishrin, we must roar European public opinion and areas with the slogans of “Status for Rojava”.

In order to increase the heroic resistance that has been going on for days in Kobanê and Rojava in Europe in a wave-like manner with the spirit of Kobanê, let’s leave the enthusiasm of the genocidal Turkish state in its wake with the escalation of the struggle by hundreds of thousands of Kurds and their friends and let’s bring the struggle to victory.”
