Turkey: Heavy clashes between HPG and Turkish soldiers in Muş

In the rural countryside surrounding the city of Muş, military operations launched by the Turkish armed forces and heavy armed clashes with Kurdish fighters continue.

On Wednesday, Turkish armed forces have launched a series of new military operations around Mount Qertewîn located in the rural areas of Patnos and Tutak districts in Turkey’s eastern city of Muş, according to MA.

Today the operations continue with heavy clashes between Kurdish fighters of the People’s Defence Forces (HPG), an armed wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Turkish soldiers on the rural areas surrounding the Kurtulmuşoğlu (Selekutlo) village.

MA reports that some HPG fighters have lost their lives during the clashes and their identities remain unknown.

An HPG fighter has been reportedly detained while wounded. Locals report that announcements were read out-loud from the mosque in the village for the villagers to stay home.

It was also learned that some regions have been bombed by the armed drones of the Turkish army.
