Abdullah Öcalan’s family and guardian applied to the Bursa Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate with a request for a visit.
The aggravated isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in the Imrali F Type High Security Prison continues.
His brother Mehmet Öcalan and his guardian Mazlum Dinç applied to the Bursa Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate with a request to meet with the Kurdish people’s leader.
In addition, Ömer Hayri Konar’s sister Emine Konar, Hamili Yıldırım’s brother Polat Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş’s sister Melihe Çetin also applied to the prosecutor’s office and the prison directorate with a request for a visit.
The lawyers were informed that the judge had given Öcalan a new 3-month “disciplinary punishment” on 16 October 2024. No information was shared regarding the reason for the “punishment” in question. Lawyers will appeal the decision.
In his last meeting with his nephew, Öcalan said that isolation continues.
