Turkey attacks UN sponsored school in northern Syria
Turkish attack on an educational center for girls on the Tel Tamr-Hasakah route claims lives of four children and wounds 11 others.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in a statement condemned a Turkish drone attack in Syria that left four children dead and 11 others wounded, reported Hawar News Agency and SOHR on Friday.
Turkish forces targeted a learning center which is sponsored by the United Nations in Shimoke village in Hasakah, the statement said.
AANES said recent talks between Turkey, Russia and Iran had led to an increase in Turkish incursions into northern Syria, adding that those attacks confirmed that Syria was under a Turkish threat.
“Last night, the fascist Turksh state carried out an attack with a UAV against a girls learning center in Shimoke village which is sponsored by the United Nations, resulting in the martyrdom of 4 children and 11 small girls,” said AANES.
The attacked school is two kilometers away from a US-led Global Coalition base, AANES said. The administration urged the coalition and the United Nations to take measures to limit Turkish aggression.
Nine civilians were also reported to be killed as a result of Turkish shelling on Friday in northern Syria’s city of Al-Bab, increasing the total daily death toll to 13.
The Brussel-based Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) had called for immediate implementation of a no-fly zone over the predominantly Kurdish region in Syria.
