Girê Spî Child Protection Centre has documented many cases of crimes by Turkish forces and their gangs that they have committed in Ayn Issa (Eyn Isa) and Tell Abyad (Girê Spî) , as reported by Hawar News.

There have been frequent bombardments from Turkey against the towns and villages on the front line of the Autonomous Administration since 9 October 2019 when Turkey took control of Tell Abyad. 56 people have been killed so far because of these attacks.

Girê Spî Child Protection Centre is documenting the crimes committed in the attacks and informing the international institutions.

According to the information the Centre provides, nine children have been killed up till now: Hatim Zêdan El-Misto (7), Mistefa Salih El-Ehmed (17), Ehmed Îbrahîm El-Rihîm (12), Mehmûd Himêdî El-Xelîl (13), Ziyad zêd El-Xelef (12), Huda Zêd El-Xelef (9), Muna Zêd El-Xelef (7), Mistefa Salih (14) and Mihemed Elî El-Ehmed (14).

The names of 22 children seriously injured as a result of the bombings are: Ebid Xidir El-Serhan (7), Mehmûd Zêdan Zêdan (3), Udey Îsmaîl El-Ehmed (16), Mueyed Elî El-Ehmed (15), Mihmed Elî El-Ehmed (16), Ebdurehîm Mihemed El-Hemed (12), Emîne Necîb (7 meh), Sîdra Zêd El-Xelef (1), Udey Îsmaîl (15), Mistefa Adil Ehmed (17), Eqîl Ezîz Hisên (16), Reşîd Hesen El-Xelef (11), Beşîr Zêd El-Hesen (16), Rexed Elî (15), Netîl Talib (1), Mehmûd Elî Merîd (17), Xufran Mistefa Xelîl (15), Ebod Hemed Xelîl (12), Munîr Xalid Hisên (16), Xelef Casim Ferîc (15), Ewad Newaş Inêzan (14), Mahir Newaş Enêzan (10).

Another serious violation of the rights of children is that approximately 5 thousand children have not been able to attend school since 23 schools are closed due to the ongoing war according to the figures of Girê Spî Education Committee.

Co-Chair of Child Protection Centre Inviting International Community to Respond

Fadye Şerif, the Co-Chair of Girê Spî Child Protection Centre said: “As a result of the occupying Turkish state dozens of crimes against children in Ayn Issa and Tell Abyad were communicated to our office. Many of these can be regarded as war crimes. Many children have died and some children were injured and became disabled.” Şerif called on the international community to react and to hold Turkey accountable, stating that they are documenting these crimes and submitting the documents to international institutions.
