Northeast Syria: New civilian casualties including a toddler as Turkish forces shell villages
Three civilians killed in North East Syria after heavy bombardment of Zirgan and Tell Tamer by Turkish forces, leaving at least five others also seriously injured.
Nine days after a Turkish attack on Zirgan (Abu Rasin) and Tell Tamer in Northeast Syria left four civilians dead, a new attack on Thursday caused at least three more fatalities and left many civilians injured, Hawar News Agency reported.
According to the report, 10 villages near the towns of Zirgan and Tell Tamer were shelled by Turkish army units and affiliated armed groups based in Turkish occupied areas in Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ayn).
Asadiye, Khedrawi, Dada Abdal, Biseis and Nuwayhat were among the villages targeted around 4pm local time.
The Great Mosque in the town of Zirgan was also hit as the Maghrib prayer was performed, and an individual named Khishman Hesen Khelef was injured.
Two sisters, Cawaher Nahaar and Cemala Musa Nahaar, and a two-year-old toddler named Alam Ali Issa were killed in the attacks, while at least five others, three of them children, were injured.
