Swedish MP: Erdoğan is against me because I fight for Kurdish rights
The Swedish MP Amina Kakabaveh said that the Turkish president Erdoğan is against her because she fights for Kurdish rights. If the Swedish government concedes to Erdoğan, she will vote against it at the coming annual budget session.
Swedish MP Amina Kakabaveh spoke to Voice of America Kurdish after Turkish President Erdoğan requested her extradition.
Kakabaveh said that Erdoğan was against her because she fought for Kurdish rights, and that his extradition request was strange in this modern age, particularly as she was an Iranian Swedish parliamentarian, with no connections to Turkey.
She added that she has been a parliamentarian in Sweden for over 14 years and that she will not bow to threats, noting that the elections are still around 100 days away in Sweden, so she still has the right to be heard as an MP and to vote in the parliament. If the Swedish government concedes to Erdoğan, she will vote against in at the coming annual budget session.
